webfact Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Group wants DSI to pursue charges against Phra DhammachayoBANGKOK: -- A group of people showed up at the Department of Special Investigation this morning (Tuesday) to demand the department chief, Pol Col Paisit Wongmuang, to deal harshly with Phra Dhammachayo, the abbot of Wat Dhammakaya, without letup. The group which comprises representatives of Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative’s members is led by Mr Paiboon Nititawan, former member of the now-defunct National Reform Council, and Dr Mano Laohavanich, former director of the foreign relations office of Wat Dhammakaya.Phra Dhammachayo was charged with money laundering and receiving stolen property in connection with hundreds of million baht of cheques issued to him and the temple by Mr Supachai Srisupa-aksorn, former chairman of Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative.Mr Paiboon noted that since the embattled abbot of Wat Dhammakaya was facing criminal charges, it was the responsibility of law enforcement officials to bring all the alleged wrongdoers to justice. The group presented to the DSI chief a contract made by the board of the cooperative and a fund for Dhammachayo’s followers which the group claimed to be disadvantageous to the cooperative’s depositors who are affected by the massive fraud allegedly undertaken by Mr Supachai.Mr Paiboon claimed that the cooperative had no right to enter into a contract which is beneficial to Phra Dhammachayo but putting the cooperative’s depositors at disadvantageous position. He questioned why the cooperative’s board members were not charged by the DSI. Pimay1 Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 My kind of folks. More power to them. It appears the DSI may being pulling another Tarit.
smedly Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 This shit has gone on long enough, time to round up these thieves and arrest the lot of them what is wrong with this country, don't they know what "Law is" and "Justice" It is time for the powers that be to get serious, anyone not doing their job - DSI - Police - Imigration or any other law enforcement agency should be threatened with dismissal if they fail to perform their jobs to the letter, there is just too much side stepping time wasting diversions - the whole thing from top to bottom is a joke, is it any wonder this country has never had a functioning democracy that always falls flat on its face becouse there are too many people just ignoring the fundamentals of law and justice - power abusers at all levels

Well, the junta has been in (god like) power for two years and <deleted> all has happened even though they promised to clean it all up. Worst part is that since they are unelected there are no checks and balances in place to get rid of them. This whole "be careful what you wish for" thing can be a b!tch, right?

If this proposed new constitution is implemented it will render any future election meaningless and assure him and his ilk's unfettered access to the trough - at least until the next time the constitution is torn up.
Eric Loh Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Time for the PM to exercise the 44 and put it to good use.
SOTIRIOS Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 ...isn't this 'selective justice' out of hand....??? ...wow...... ...sick sick sick.......

Only suthep? Are you being somewhat selective? Please see text marked in bold. The poster mentioned Suthep so that's what I replied to. OK? But you're right, it's not only Suthep that will get wood if this constitution will be implemented, it's the entire old elite.
