Only if in Pattaya you need proof of address. Other places just show up with the money and you can make the copies etc at the immigration office.

Most(All?) Immigration offices will require evidence of an applicant having a local address.

Where except Pattaya/Chonburi for a TR extension?

whistling.gif Yes you can do it a week early.

However depending on where you apply they prefer you spend the first 3 weeks. or a minimum of 15 days on your first visa before you appply for an extension for that visa.

i once aplied for an extension after only 24 days in country on my first visa....and though i got the extension i was told not to apply that early again.

As for a TM-30 in many hotels you are registered when you sign in as many hotels register you as an arriving foriegner with immigration on-line when you check-in at the hotel.

it is only when the hotel does not do this....as they are legally supposed to.....that You may be asked for a TM-30.

IMA_FARANG:

But, if you see the link to the other thread that I posted above, here again final post in the linked thread, you'll see that although the hotel I was staying at does register guests online (i specifically asked them) and I had receipts from them, Immigration at Jomtien still asked me to fill in a TM30, albeit with just the hotel's name and address. As my link states, they then stapled part of it (the RECEIPT OF NOTIFICATION) into my passport.

As you say though, different Immigration Offices may vary - i only have experience of Jomtien.
