I saw a post about no alcohol served in Phuket but didnt see any news or posts about Pattaya on Friday.

Although they usually cobble their laments in altruistic terms, speaking of the trauma it would cause to tourists who would have their entire holiday ruined if the only alcohol available to them for 24 hours was from the hotel room mini-fridge or room service.

Even on such days there are always a few all too Wonderful places which 'slip through the net' (have paid the appropriate tea money) and will be open, much to the dismay of the TV 'ALL 'farangs' must be teetotal, blindly worship and obey ALL Thai customs no matter how archaic'' puritan brigade.

A wander around on Friday or a chat with a few well established 'locals' will point you in the right direction and should be rewarding.

Failing that, get 'takeaway' on Thursday and stock up your fridge with ale and spirits, have a debauched night in, then when stocious, go have a drunken sing song outside chicowoodduck's house at 3am.....
