Hello everyone,

I have a friend has a kinda new mercedes s300 bluetech hybrid 2015. It is very expensive and very very wired too. it is been only 9 months and 18k km. But the transmission got trouble many times.

He found the problem 4 months ago and reported the service center. they said its been fixed. but it happen again again. Nobody has a responsibility about this. and They keep saying wait.

I,have bought luxury premium car couple of times, totally dont understand situation,

Is there any lemon law or something like that? My friend almost forgive up the car and may be selling the car and buy another regular lexus.

I know he is going to lose $30k at least Is there any way, he can claim and get fixed well and have a peace of mind?

Anybody has a good tip about this issue please.

Thank you in advance, post-258318-0-34126300-1463479093_thumb.

If it's been fixed why are they saying "just wait." More to the story?

What "specifically" is the problem? Slipping, doesn't change gears properly, etc?

Where was it made?!! E Class or C Class from China? If you are sure it s sClass less likely. More info!

what part of

s300

is it you don't understand? huh.png

Is it insured? There's your answer....

...remember a few years ago when a Thai took to their car with a hammer or such-like outside the dealership..TV cameras ready too..he/she was fed up with the constant breakdowns and lack of proper repairs so decided to destroy it.

It might help to contact the main office in Germany.

Friend did this, was invited to bring his car to a dealer in another town, received a courtesy car, and presto, the car was repaired, no more problems.

Been doing some searching for transmission troubles on that transmission and only 1 report comes up. It appears there was trouble selecting reverse which occurred after the car car broke down while driving. It was solved by a software update from Germany.

Sorry .. I was so upset and forgot to talk about detail. My friend had asked the service person about the problem that is knocking after faster than 100km/h driving. It seems like from the mission change. When he asked service center, they didn't take that seriously. But When my friend asked them second ask, they said. It is from the change mission shake or something like that. And they said they can not fix it, so they have to ask to German HQ. after 5 days later, they said it is done. But It keep knocking. and it is getting bigger and louder.

BTW, as long as i know that when the S class owner ask the service, they supposed to get the owner loan car. Is that right? I always get the loan car from the dealer when my car being fixed. Is Thailand dealer system different? I wish i can explain better. thank you,

Sure you do.

Why are you so upset over a friend's car and doing all of the work / making phone calls for him?

Methinks it is your car, but don't see why you have to attribute it to an imaginary friend.

What's wrong with having an imaginary friend?

Review about that STAR service. ]

I called there yesterday and explain what it happen. After she listen all and gave me the other number to call. Geeeeeeeee, I spent 30 min to explain,

I called another place which she gave me and explain again, I got answer after another 30 min explain..."Been doing some searching for transmission troubles on that transmission and only 1 report comes up. It appears there was trouble selecting reverse which occurred after the car car broke down while driving. It was solved by a software update from Germany. "We will call you for today afternoon"

I know you can guess that they never called me back yesterday. I called dealer service and guy came to my office to bring back the car this morning. Nobody knows and NOBODY has a responsibility.

I would like to say that buying MB in the Thailand is crazy thing... I will keep contacting them but I feel really hot.

The first line of responsibility is with the dealer. If he is being told it's fixed but it's not fixed yet then he should be riding with the mechanic together so they can hear the sound, and when the car is ready ask them to ride together as well to ensure it is fixed. If there is a problem then ask to speak with the service manager. If he doesn't help then ask his salesperson to speak with the dealership manager. Keep escalating.

He can also try another dealer as there's a nationwide service agreement as part of the MB warranty. The problem he is experiencing could be beyond the capability of the service department at that dealership.

Funny STAR assist.

I called there more than 10 times. have talked 4 peoples. They always tell me call me back.. But they hardly call me back. It is not working. I called dealer service to change oil and trouble.

they told me they have to change one of the part from Germany next week. and they charged me this..

It is funny and sad. This is the level of MB service in Thailand.

From looking at the receipt looks like they just did a full service fluids and maybe filters change. Appears they even serviced the air con. And even with their 25% discount still expense. But hey, that's Mercedes...paying premium for a name.

I suggest you contact consumer protection and make a complaint if you are not happy and feel their treatment and service isn't fair.

Sorry to hear you're having problems, but I'm happy it can happen to a Mercedes and not just a Ford laugh.png

Would you like to swap it for my Ford Fiesta? cheesy.gif

Seems its a diesel - Adblue on the bill. What year is the car? How many kms covered?

If your friend was savvy enough to deal with the purchase of a premium motor car, why is he not doing all this?

Aye the true stories are always the best. You are now on par with the water in the petrol package.
