November 8, 200619 yr As everybody on here is so helpful , I thought I would start another thread asking if anyone knows where i can get a huge Buddha head 'sterilised' ? It is around 2 metres tall and full of something that makes piles of dust on the table on which it stands. I don't know if it is woodworm or something else, but I would like it to be sprayed/coated/blasted to rid us of this pestilence. Any ideas? Thank you Leisurely
November 8, 200619 yr You might contact the antiquities people...I can't remember the proper name of the agency but it is the people who have to give you permission if you want to take a Buddha image out of the country....there should be someone at any university who could direct you to them....I think that they could tell you how to preserve your wooden Buddha head or would know who would know who would know....or maybe go to the National Museum...they should know how to do it or they would know who would know who would know. November 9, 200619 yr I think you need methyl bromide, the same stuff they use to fumigate shipments going to Australia. Ain't cheap though. PM me if yo want contact details.
November 12, 200619 yr Author Thanks for the replies . I am not trolling, but how would you apply the methyly bromide (?) and is it dangerous. Stupid girl , of course it is dangerous it is an insecticide. DURR!
November 13, 200619 yr It would be a good idea to get it done quickly too. It could be Termites infesting the wooden supports etc. inside the image; if it is they may spread to other wooden items - furniture ........... or parts of your house! Patrick
