Roads, railways and refineries hit in two-day French strike

PARIS: -- French transport workers on the railways and roads have delivered a patchy response to the Communist CGT union’s call for strike action to protest against labour law reforms.

International trains were unaffected but domestic services were cut by 80% in some places, although a minimum service was able to run. With the strike lasting two days it seems many travellers made other plans, and many stations appeared quiet.

On the roads it was lorry drivers who were up in arms at, among other things, overtime bonuses being slashed to 10% from 25%. They blockaded many roads and refineries in the north, creating local petrol shortages, and have called on their driver colleagues in the south to join them.

As the reforms make their way though parliament opposition to them is mounting and protests are spreading. The Socialist government insists they are needed to relaunch the French economy.

France, I believe is another one of those democracy/socialists...no communists here, kind of countries.

Communism follows total failure with socialism and becomes the governments next plan. They take the rights of all the disenfranchised, protesting citizens away and dictate from a single party.

Socialist cum communists create anarchy as part of the plan to destabilize existing governments.

Seems like France, a co-leader of the EU, is on schedule.

Yes, but those social liberal communists think it will all be so much better when we have a EU super state, federal in nature controlled by socialists and the layers of bureaucracy they so love.

The French socialists probably still thing the Germans will let them help manage things. Fools!

When you have a Socialist Government and yet Labor Unions going on Strike, you know you got troubles.

Time for a change and perhaps a new government. No point hanging in their if nobody wants you their.
