Chipper/shredder

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can find something similar to this in Thailand:

http://www.bunnings.com.au/masport-5-0hp-chipper-shredder_p3380576

I have checked out Mega Home, Global House, Thai Wasadu and found nothing of the sort, not even the cheap, smaller Chinese made electric equivalents.

I'm looking for a petrol (gasoline) powered shredder since the electric ones are no good out in the field away from the power grid.

I know there's some Thai companies making them but I have looked at their quality (and prices) and was not impressed. Would prefer something imported.

If there's nothing in Thailand, does anyone know anywhere in Malaysia or Singapore selling one? I'd be willing to drive down there just to get one, if available.

On another matter, anyone know where to find compost bins. Again, haven't seen any at any of the hardware shops.

Patipong are just off Rangsit Nakon Nayok Rd.on Klong 10 (North East of Bangkok).

There is a German guy who works there but he speaks little English.

Various sizes and power sources; Kubota diesel, Honda GX and tractor PTO.

They look well made. Prices from around 130,000 up IIRC

Kojima is a brand that I have and have used extensively with good results. They make 2 sizes but, IMHO, buying the "larger" unit is a waste of money as the actual working part of the machines is the same.

Drawbacks: engine is not movable for belt adjustment (solved at a local shop), the bearing that come on the machine are the non-lube type and will no last long. Solved the latter problem at the local shop as well.

You can move it around easily.

Note my warning about purchasing a WC155 chopper from CLPE - outfit in Bangkok. Tempting but not worth the hassle.

As long as he speaks German it's fine as I'm fluent. Or Thai for that matter, LOL.

130,000 is a bit more than I was expecting to spend. I was thinking more like 30,000-45,000 or so, after all, I'm not looking for an industrial scale chipper, more like something in the link I posted and less than 100kg.

Anyway, I'll take a look and see what they've got. Thanks for your post.

The Kojima looks pretty good to me, even if it's a Chinese brand. Price-wise hits the spot perfectly too. Looks like I will go for that one. Thanks for posting these links.
