Hi everyone! Is it possible to EXTEND my child's non o visa based on his father's NEW 1yr multi entry B visa? My child actually got an initial 90 days non o in laos already. His father did not manage to extend his visa and somehow got a NEW 1 yr Non b instead.

If it's not possible, can I then get my child a 1 yr single entry Non O visa based on his father's 1 yr multiple entry business visa? As i understand, with multiple entry visa, you are only allowed to stay 90 days at a time. My child is already attending kindergarten school, and I'm hoping that i could spare him from the inconvenience of border hopping.

I would greatly appreciate any thought about my concerns.

A dependent extension can only be obtained if the parent is on an extension of stay.

I doubt very much your child would be able tot get a multiple entry non-o visa within the region.

Since your child is attending school they could get an extension based upon that if the school is registered with the ministry of education.

Thanks ubonjoe for the time.

My plan B actually is to take him out to Laos or Penang for a new Non o visa. What do you think he could possibly get;

A) a 3mos non o visa?

B) a 1yr multi entry non o, or

C) a 1yr single entry non o

I'm hoping I could get the latter though.

About the school, if it is indeed registered to MOE, could you please elaborate that option?

The most he could get is a single entry non-o visa at a nearby embassy or consulate.

The school may already be aware of what is required if they have other non Thai students to get the extension based upon attending school.

Requirements for your child to obtain one year extension for attending school from Bangkok immigration website. Others may have some different supporting document requirements.
