Pathetic!

Disneyland.

Banana ? republic.

Duh, well done Gandalf!

I wonder if a group of five people would be arrested if they gathered to give flowers to the dear leader?

Smedley, what about some positives for the government from this story?

There have been some really nasty and horrific leaders but arresting and elderly citizen for a cheeseburger and flower really elevates Prayuth and the junta into pure evil, only an evil and barbaric person would do such a thin to a frail old person.

You could not make this up.

Thailand at its best, gets a suspended sentence for giving flowers.

...blooming amazing!

If you are fed up with this kind of thing, why not send a link to international media?

Kill nine people on the highway whilst unlicensed and get 48hrs a year community service, give flowers and get a suspended sentence, Amazing Thailand.

...two coups ago..when the tanks and soldiers were positioned at various main intersections around Chiang Mai..a group of women approached the troops and poked long stemmed flowers down the barrels of their semi-automatic...everyone was wai-ing and laughing.,.a good time had by all...certainly relieved the tension that was about the area....hmmm.

Amazing Thailand indeed. Let the poor man go!

There are people who protest, but the medias are too afraid of the junta government to publish the news.

With all their tanks, guns, subs, helicopters military might and man power.

I just don't understand, where is the need to bully up on a 77 year old man.

You are not supposed to understand. You are supposed to cower in fear lest an article 44 live fire zone pop up around you.

Military state 101 - never give flowers! - Perhaps we need to ban florists within 300 meters of schools?

It's really Orwellian .

The Friday night forced get together s .

Propaganda .

Old guys narrowly avoiding jail for really the most harmless actions.

Facebook likes .

Two years ago the army took control.

See how liberties have be crunched in that time?

What will it be like in two more years ?

Will we be writing opinions here?

Will there have been civil strife cities levelled ?

Peace and tolerance and a new elected government ?

Flowers are a powerful mechanism at times.

Lets hope the old man is left in peace

TV should send some flowers to the man in name of all members, that would be a strong statement too.

Sooner or later the junta may get flowers too...

Yes. He could have been unlicenced and killed 9 people and got the same sentence.

This dangerous criminal is a danger to society and all flower growers.

Be fair now, he wasn't made to do community service under conditions of his own choosing! Not really harsh then.

another suspended sentence. his father is probably a cop.

C'mon you guy's we been told by the pm the military never violates human rights...

So he was charged with a political gathering crime that the junta had made into law, when he actually gave flowers and some food to an activist the junta don't like.

Junta fan boys absent yet again, no surprises there.

Anyone think that they will have the intestinal fortitude to come out and admit they backed the wrong group? Yet they criticize Thais for not taking responsibility for their own actions, Hypocrites some could say...

Be careful how you respond in writing as you might not get a suspended sentence!

The printed word is more powerful than giving flowers.

The reaction could surprise you in the future in so many ways.coffee1.gif

Whatever the reason of the military junta is to arrest this old man: it's a shame on Thailand !!!!!! and shows it's real face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nothing more

nothing less

Yu'p self censoring is quite common now.

I wonder what the International reaction would be if a falang (American, Aussie, English, what ever, was arrested and charged with some political charge, ie flowers and food to activists.

I suspect a few secret gov 2 gov phone calls and deportation?
