However, I do think there would be no civilization or perhaps even intelligence if humans did not believe in higher beings.

I just think this is somewhat a natural step in evolution, so perhaps you could argue that people who still believe in gods are stuck a little behind.... however, no need to criticize them as we all come from the same gene pool.

God exists, but only on Tuesdays, and even that hasn't been proven.
