BANGKOK, 1 June 2016 (NNT) - The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) is considering a policy change to hold public hearings at government buildings instead of military camps to promote a better atmosphere.

According to NCPO Deputy Spokesperson Col Sirichan Ngathong, the council's discussions with other parties on political and social matters will not be held at military establishments.

The change in venue is meant to be convenient to all sides and promote a relaxing atmosphere. As for public gatherings, the NCPO spokesperson said the police will operate under the 2015 Public Assembly Act to keep the peace during public demonstrations.

The law ensures that public complaints will be heard and resolved accordingly. It also prevents individuals from taking advantage of the demonstration for their own benefit.

To promote a better atmosphere:

Now , if only you could just get rid of those uniforms, reminds one of Franco's Spain or "F" Troop.....................................coffee1.gif ..

Why dont the hold it in a certain monkery. They could kill 2 birds with 1 stone and arrest a certain monk at the same time. Oh, I forgot. These brave ex military self appointed officials are too scared to go in there.

promote a relaxing atmosphere

Then repeal the Referendum Act and revoke Article 44.

The place of the meeting doesn't matter so long as the junta controls the event. The sword of damocles will still hang over people's rights & liberties.

Cheer up, love, it might never happen...

She's probably contemplating the logistical problems involved. If the sessions were to be held in a barracks. easy. fall any dissenters in outside, turn to the right and double them away to the nick. Now she will need to find transport, arrange escorts, organise something to keep the press distracted and so on.

Aren't they still in a railway carriage shunted down the back siding at Hua Hin Railway Station?
