Following ongoing forensics on the helicopter crash in Norway on 29th April, the European Aviation Safety Agency have announced a prohibition on the use of Airbus AS 332 L2 and EC 225 LP "Super Puma" helicopters for passenger conveyance.

"Pending further investigation to determine the root cause(s) of the reported damage, and development of mitigating measures by Airbus Helicopters, EASA has decided, as an additional precautionary measure, to temporarily ground the fleet.
For the reason described above, this AD prohibits flight of the AS 332 L2 and EC 225 LP helicopters."
This directive, although mandatory under the jurisdiction of the EASA, it has been wholly adopted by my client and their contractors offshore Vietnam.
Hopefully, other clients, contractors and operators in the region will be similarly motivated and/or directed. I have the first two preliminary reports from the AIBN (Accident Investigation Board Norway) and will post here if bandwidth permits.
