Hi,could anyone tell me if it is ok to go for Retirement Visa Renewal on the same day as it Expires,as I have been delayed

and will not arrive back in Thailand until the same day of expiry ?

Thanks

Yes, as long as you have all the correct paperwork you can apply for another extension of stay on the last day of the current permit to stay.

As said, you can apply for an extension of stay (It is not a visa)as long as you have the correct paperwork.

Not a great idea, but if everything is in order you will be ok.

What is a retirement visa renewal. Anyway your landing in bkk. You need to get to cw. If your talking about another 12 month permission of stay, get your bank letter at cw etc.

Yes possible. Hope you fly in very early!

Hopefully you can manage to get your bank manager's letter and/or embassy income certification as well as everything else organized in time and you possess a re-entry permit. Could be a tight squeeze if don't already have all your ducks in a row.

You arrive in Thailand with a re-entry permit I assume?

If not you would get a 30 day visa exempt stamp and start all over from zero.

On the other hand: what happens if you arrive on day x with a re-entry permit valid until day x??

If you are late you will be fined for overstay and still get the extension (usually).

Just don't be caught.

I will be arriving on a multi - entry visa,be it on the last day of validity ! Will I get 90 days ?

Yes.

If "ENTER BEFORE" on visa sticker = date of your entry to Thailand then you get another 90 days.

Don't be distracted by the "BEFORE"

  • The TM6 is in two parts. The IO will keep the arrival card (1) and you should still have the departure card (2) in your passport.
  • You need to supply a copy of the departure card for the extension of stay.

Yes you will get a new 90 day stay and in that case you will have to wait 45 days before you can do a one year extension of stay from immigration - if that is what your original post was about.

  • You can enter on or before the 'enter before' date printed on the visa.
  • You'll get 90 days, even if arriving on the last day, as long as it's a non immigrant visa.
