Monk gets 15 years for raping multiple children in Siem Reap

Featured Replies

A chief monk was convicted of raping “more than 10” young novices and sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Siem Reap Provincial Court yesterday, court officials said.

Keut Sovanareth, the provincial prosecutor, said the verdict was reached the same day as the conviction against Vong Chet, 46.

Chet was arrested in November after the parents of nine boys aged 9 to 16 accused him of having sex with them.

ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français

ThaiVisa, it's also in French

Two words: "Not enough".

I have read about Cambodian prisons, one year there seems to be worth 5 in Thailand and one in Thailand would be worth 5 in Europe.

Won't see news like this Thailand, I would think..... just reassignment

Animal !! Buddhist monk in robes and name only. Not in heart and mind. Same as Christian priests and pastors that rape little kids.. Only Christian in name only... not in heart and mind.

Lock him up and lose the key in the middle of Tonlé Sap Lake.

or moved to a hopefully inactive post at head office. No wait. That is another big organization.

Hopefully the monk can pay for his sins in the jail of Siem Reap; hopefully there are some horny gorillas locked up with him and make sure there's no vaseline.

Rethinking the re-introduction of the death penalty? How can a man of the cloth misuse this trust among the weakest elements of the society?

Should have been castrated first and given a life sentance
