To take up the slack, the membership process of the next 5 Countries vying for EU membership will be fast-tracked. About a 100 million people who's current average salary is around euro 400 a month. No wonder the scaremongering campaign by those with a vested interest has been in overdrive! Having said that, I'm not sure whether Brexit and/or the collapse of the EU is a good thing. I'm pretty sure they'll (Brit govt and EU) end up keeping the things I don't like and binning the things I like . It will reenforce the leave voters that they are doing the right thing to get rid of this undemocratic EU bureaucracy. I also think if Britain leaves, it will have a knock on affect with countries like Sweden and Holland soon to follow, then the disintegration will be inevitable. Marine Le Pen said if the Brits leave and she would be in power after the next election , that there will be a Frexit...but she won't be in power. The Dutch are not leaving on their own , Belgium certainly won't be leaving ( the gravy train = Brussels). The Poles and other eastern euro's fear Russia too much to get out of the EU. Sweden & Norway are happy were they are , and club med needs the bail outs. If the polls keep it below 5 to 10 % difference incl the undecided , there will be no Brexit. Only if the real difference is more than 10 % - 20 % there may be a Brexit. It will not be instand: Brexit on the 23rd-24rd does not mean out of the EU on the 25th. More like a gradual withdraw by 2017. No shock and awe. The world and/or economy is not going to tank either way, just some smart money making a sh-tload more money out of a storm in a cup. What happens to all the retired British Ex-Pats who live throughout Europe and their Old Age Pension Schemes and Free Health Care in the event of Brexit? At the moment OAP's enjoy Pension Increments and Free Health Care in Europe. Does Brexit mean that the OAP increments stop and no Free Health Care? Doesnt' look good to me.
