Germany warns Brexit could lead to EU 'disintegration'

BERLIN: -- If the UK votes to leave the EU next week, the move could ultimately lead to the bloc's disintegration, Germany's foreign minister has warned.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier was speaking near Berlin after talks with his French counterpart, Jean-Marc Ayrault.

Mr Steinmeier warned against "a nationalism that pits one European state against another".

No deduction in the overall EU population though as Angie has plenty of migrants to fill up the blank spaces.

To take up the slack, the membership process of the next 5 Countries vying for EU membership will be fast-tracked.

About a 100 million people who's current average salary is around euro 400 a month.

Guess what is going to happen.

Will they listen cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

what that would do is create a level playing field were it could be possible to save all the good parts of the EU and scap the rest leaving trade agreements largly intact, not such a bad thing to go back to the drawing board, "as it is" it is a massive train wreck and a monumentous failure, the UK was never fully committed anyway - they kept the sterling

Isn't that what many of us have been saying for a while now?? No wonder the scaremongering campaign by those with a vested interest has been in overdrive!

Having said that, I'm not sure whether Brexit and/or the collapse of the EU is a good thing. I'm pretty sure they'll (Brit govt and EU) end up keeping the things I don't like and binning the things I like sad.png .

If it collapses it will get rid of all the chaff (countries and people) and hopefully the wheat can rebuild and go back to how it was when it was the EEC and the EFTA

This is exactly what the Brexiters want to hear from the German/French ministers.

It will reenforce the leave voters that they are doing the right thing to get rid of this

undemocratic EU bureaucracy.

I also think if Britain leaves, it will have a knock on affect with countries like Sweden

and Holland soon to follow, then the disintegration will be inevitable.

Not only the EU but many other countries will be affected by a world recession...

That's why virtually every country other than Russia are advising Brits to remain.

A Brexit may well cause the very week Euro to collapses.

Yes, it would result in financial loss and problems for the people and companies who are only concerned with their own financial interests.

Its good though that Germany has admitted that this is their concern.

Really, after UK hopefully gets out, it doesn,t really matter what happens to the European Union, because it,s not really european any more :( I think that merkel (note small case) seems to have inflicted far greater damage on Europe than the UK leaving ever could :(

Well we certainly hope so , but nothing will change much . All fear porn.

The EU doesn't need the UK to keep their dictatorship.

Marine Le Pen said if the Brits leave and she would be in power after the next election , that there will be a Frexit...but she won't be in power. The Dutch are not leaving on their own , Belgium certainly won't be leaving ( the gravy train = Brussels).

The Poles and other eastern euro's fear Russia too much to get out of the EU. Sweden & Norway are happy were they are , and club med needs the bail outs.

If the polls keep it below 5 to 10 % difference incl the undecided , there will be no Brexit. Only if the real difference is more than 10 % - 20 % there may be a Brexit. It will not be instand: Brexit on the 23rd-24rd does not mean out of the EU on the 25th. More like a gradual withdraw by 2017. No shock and awe. The world and/or economy is not going to tank either way, just some smart money making a sh-tload more money out of a storm in a cup.

A question nobody has yet asked. What happens to all the retired British Ex-Pats who live throughout Europe and their Old Age Pension Schemes and Free Health Care in the event of Brexit? At the moment OAP's enjoy Pension Increments and Free Health Care in Europe. Does Brexit mean that the OAP increments stop and no Free Health Care? Doesnt' look good to me.

With European deputies coming at 9.am, signing to have their daily $500 then leaving at 9.30am I hope it will end too...tired of those useless guys in their ivory tower

Yep exactly. All the free-loading bureaucrats are in panic mode. They may have to get REAL jobs.

Yes and you can thank The Iron Lady for that.
