Stainless steel plumbing fixtures

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking for somewhere to pick up stainless steel plumbing fixtures as per those picture in the attachment.

I've picked up some of them from Chiang Mai Tools, but there are a few others that they did not have - stainless steel washers, and 1/2" male to hose attachment.

I've tried Global House, and they have next to nothing.

If anyone has any recommendations of places to try, it would be much appreciated.

Sanpakoy possibly?

Thanks

China/thai mom/pop/daughter have ss parts....going up Suthep, on the left, about 50m past, where you would turn left to go to Soapy massage. I'd say about 150 m before Nimman.

Open everyday...daughter is very helpful. Mostly 1/2 inch stuff....

Ambiguous directions at best. Going up Doi Suthep? Can't be going up Suthep Road since it runs E/W. Not everyone is aware of the soapy massage joint where you get plumbing attended to. tongue.png

Use Google or Wikimaps to provide a GPS fix .... easy as.

Maybe your from Indiana, where it is flat, but often people will say going up, if they are climbing a hill, like Suthep, even though you are not going North. You go up Lombard St. in SF, you go up University Ave. in Berkeley......

Nice one KKK, will check it out.

Cheers!

I think you might have to be walking to go up Lombard Street. Speaking of flat places, if you go up the Filbert Steps from Sansome Street there is a bench on the first landing with a little engraved plaque that says "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."

Nah, just nitpicking, saying that if you are going up Lombard Street you must be walking. For cars it is a one way street going down.

I also have some tapered hex nipples that I need the taper taken off.

If anyone can recommend a machining shop (โรงกลึง rohng gleung) that can do this for me, that'd be much appreciated too.

Cheers!

The soapy is 50m up from Nimman or are there two off Suthep?

I bought a range of 304 S/S fitting, to make a reducer, from Lazada.

It took a fair bit of searching but there are suppliers in China. I had to pay first as Cash on Delivery wasn't available, plus they took up to 10 days to arrive, but they were about 150 - 200 baht each.

Plenty available in Bangkok online for decent prices >>> http://www.jarmjooree.net/product/25/อุปกรณ์เกลียวสเตนเลส-เกรด-304

I'd just rather pick them up locally, if possible.

how, if i may ask, is that going to work for you?

the taper starts at a dimension below the specified finish.

there is no standard fitting to the low - end - taper thread.

other than showing off your thai language knowledge, perhaps, what are you trying to achive?

keep me posted, pal.

I'm trying to fit a 3 piece ball valve to a stock pot. The nipple will form part of the bulkhead.

If it's tapered, the valve will not sit very flush with the wall of the stock pot, and I won't have much thread to play with on the inside of the pot. A straight thread on the nipple is much preferable.

The taper is there for a reason and it is to help you start the thread into the valve

I have a 1/2" hex nipple in brass/copper that has a straight thread, and trust me, it does a much better job for what I am trying to do.

Just buy the die and do it yourself, it is just one.

What is a die going to set me back? Can't see me using it again after this, to be honest!
