Kenny202
Considering a move to Chiang Rai next year and notice it's always considerably cooler ( 3-5 degrees) than where I am in Isaan. Just wondering is the area generally humid? Probably is now with the rain. For eg Pattaya is a lot cooler than isaan, but the humidity offsets the cooler temperature
villagefarang
If weather is your main consideration then Chiang Rai wins by a good margin. There are many other advantages as well. It is quite simply a much more beautiful part of the country and there are fewer farangs.
villagefarang
Like everywhere, weather changes from day to day and there can be extreme days. Here is a visual example of the variation. These are two shots taken a few months apart but at the same location. I put up with the first view so I can enjoy the last one.
Kenny202
Thanks mate. Not so much worried about the view as the heat haha. Be coming up there for a week or do from Khon Kaen next month or so for a look around. Looking forward to it :-)

sceadugenga
I consider the next six months to be the best time of the year but I don't mind it a bit hot and wet. I also live higher in the mountains than the city so it's cooler still, but especially at night.
