King’s condition satisfactory after drainage of excess cerebrospinal fluid

BANGKOK: -- Doctors have drained excess cerebrospinal fluid from the brain of His Majesty the King on Saturday and the treatment result is satisfactory, the Bureau of the Royal Household announce on Sunday.

A statement from the bureau said that doctors at Siriraj hospital found an abnormal increase of cerebrospinal fluid in HM the King and sought permission to change the drainage tube to drain the fluid without the use of anesthetic on Saturday evening.

Follow-up blood tests and electrocardiographic reading of the condition of the heart of HM the King after the treatment to correct the narrowing of an artery on June 7 shows the King’s heart muscles have strengthened, said the statement.

Businessman Boonchai urges all followers to show up at Wat Dhammakaya to “practise dhamma”

School Bus Drivers Must Now Register by July 31

CityNews – After an increase of accidents involving school buses in Chiang Mai, the Chiang Mai Provincial Land Transport Office have declared that all drivers must be registered and their buses checked for safety by July 31 or risk arrest if caught after that date.

Fingerprint scanning may be required in buying smart phones by year’s end

BANGKOK: -- To ensure better security in the use of the so-called PromptPay electronic money transfer system through smart phones, the Bank of Thailand and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission have agreed to introduce fingerprint scanning for smart phone buyers probably by year's end.
