Amora Thapae > Promenada

Featured Replies

I know there is a shuttle bus from here, but where exactly is one to stand to wait for it?

Might sound like a silly question, but I don't want to wait around in the wrong place.

Cheers

As you are facing the building, it pulls up to the left. I went through this....the <deleted> at the front desk was playing stupid....and obviously, there is a nest of Red out fron looking for fares...as in 2-300 for the trip. I had the number of Prom, and got them on the phone....when leaving Prom, I didn't want to wait for the shuttle, walked past the nest of red there, crossed thee street and was taken to Worrorat Market for 50 THB. Find Proms website, call them up, verify...

At the Amora I sit in a chair on top of the ramp to wait, you can see the shuttle coming on the other side of the moat, at Prom you get a free ticket from the info desk and sit by the glass doors, the drivers come in and get you, all very friendly and efficiant.

When you left the Promenada which street did you walk across? There are two major highways there.

How long was the wait for the what ever it was you got for 50 baht? Certainly not a tuck tuck. They also want 200 baht and I doubt there is many in the area.

I crossed the highway, just like I did when the letter of residency monkey was on the other side, and used the shuttle then. I stood on the side of the road, but at a place where the red could pull off and talk to me...about 1 minute. He was heading that way, empty. I've noticed more and more how the reds that gather in bunches really shoot themselves int he foot, we have a new group up here by CMU, like there are on Nimman..always greeted by a wooman, who quotes me at least double what I usually pay. Yesterday....walked past a group of four of them, who were totally idle, a moving one, pulled up, took me to Airport Plaza for 30 THB, like I always pay, and 300m down the hill, he fpound a "Chinee" lady going to CNX, and got a 100 from her....nice trip for him...meanwhile the "gang" was shutout.
