Lao media appreciated in Thailand’s news coverage of tourism in Laos

Lao media expressed their appreciations for Thailand’s news coverage of tourism in the country which has drawn more Thai tourists to visit Laos.

Kiattikun Chartprasert (เกียรติคุณ ชาติประเสริฐ), Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during a seminar attended by Thai and Lao media that the relations between the two countries have always been good but admitted that there are a number of articles, movies, and soap operas which reflect inappropriate treatments to Lao people.

Mr Kiattikun emphasized that Thailand is willing to correct the wrong images of Laos in all forms of Thai media. He believed that the media from both countries form an integral part in maintaining good ties between the countries.

Somsanuk Meesai (สมสนุก มีสาย), Vice President of the Journalism Association of the Lao’s People Democratic Republic, expressed Lao media’s appreciations for Thai media’s coverage of tourism in Laos which covers various issues such as social affairs, culture, and trade and investment.

This has prompted a lot of Thai tourists to visit Laos.
