about these National Parks. The entrance fee used to be 200 baht for foreigners and 20 for thai. Now, i think that's quite stupid, but anyway.... But they raised it overthere, in Pai, to 400 baht for farang !!! Now, i just got back from Pai and i wanted to see the hotspring just outside Pai. The hotspring called Muang Paeng Hotspring, but is now under the protection of a national park. I pulled up at the entrance with my car and the officer wanted 1220 baht from me, for 3 farang and 1 thai citizen. And there was no bargaining on the fee. It was that or leave. So we left...

This thing happened again. At the Pong Duat Geyser. This one is under the protection of Huai Nam Dang National Park. At the entrance, same story. But when we left, the guard called us back and came up with a price of 490 baht for 4 people, again 3 farang and 1 thai citizen. How he managed to get that price i still don't know... But anyway we got in and it was okay.

I took a trip to Krabi. Again, 3 farang and 1 thai citizen and we made a 5 island tour. Now, the 5 island tour is more nice, it's in a national park. So, we get to Koh Hong and it's islands and we pay a regular 200 baht. This time something strange: the thai citizen had to pay 200 baht too.

So can anybody tell me what is going on ???

as in thailand nobody knows - as your example shows.

and those 490 baht for 4 people it was just into the pocket of the guards - according to the older, cheaper pricing it suppose to be 620 baht
