I was charged for my Etihad flight on the day I booked, then two days later I was charged again, and it took me over a month to recover said money. Hence I had to withdraw money from a fixed interest acount in order to have enough money to live on whilst waiting for my Etihad refund, hence I lost interest payments.

Etihad kept on saying it was bangkok bank fault and kept on asking me to obtain the auth code. Bangkok bank would not or could not give me the auth code, but after a month recovered the money for me. Bangkok Bank said Etihad was at fault

Could someone out there clarify who caused this problem I have pasted a letter from etihad

Thank you for your response, and we apologise for the delay in our email due to the high number of feedback we are currently receiving.
We would like to re-iterate that we receiver’s issue about double charges and these charges are due to the soft blocking from the bank. As Etihad have already charged you, we do not claim these charges and after a period of time, this amount is then released by your bank. It was a concern however that the amount had not bee release yet, therefore we ask additional information such as the below, hence Bank Statement and AUTH Code has not been provided yet to be able for us to assist you.

It appears you weren't charged twice, just that the block wasn't lifted once payment had been made, to me that points at the banks fault.

Thai banks are a nightmare, customer always wrong and they can make the rules up as suits them and it's never their fault
