Phuket Airport runway-extension plan gains momentum

PHUKET: -- The Transport Ministry has called for officials to submit a draft proposal to have the runway at Phuket International Airport extended into the sea so that the key tourist portal can accommodate larger aircraft.

PHUKET: -- The driver of a tour bus that crashed on Patong hill on Sunday night while taking 25 Chinese tourists to their resort on Soi Eden in Patong has been found guilty of reckless driving and fined B1,000.

Govt to keep fighting human trafficking despite results of new TIP Report

BANGKOK, 30 June 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has affirmed that Thailand will continue to focus on the mission to end human trafficking although reports suggest that the country’s ranking on the Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report could improve this year.

PHUKET: -- An 18-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday (June 28) for the murder of another 18 year old who was stabbed to death in Koh Kaew on Sunday night (June 26).
