PATTAYA: -- At 5pm on the evening of June 29 the Sawangboriboon Medics were called to attend a woman who had been badly beaten at a temporary shack in Pratumnak Soi 5, Pattaya.

The victim, forty-four year old Plenfah Pengkamphu, was found to have two badly swollen eyes and was bleeding heavily from head wounds. Lying next to her was thirty-seven year old Ekarach Kamla, although he had passed out as he had been drinking heavily all day.

She said that Mr Ekarach, her boyfriend, had been drinking with a man called Maew. She herself had not been drinking at all and when Mr Ekarach eventually passed out the man called Maew began to sexually assault her.

If the allegation is to be believed, there could be a string of possible serious offences including: sexual assault; common assault; assault occasioning actual bodily harm; robbery with violence; possibly aggravated assault; and, arguably, attempted murder!

Quite serious allegation by anyone's interpretation. Yet, the police "...will wait until she is sufficiently recovered before taking a formal statement..." before they begin to look for a drunk named Maew. Amazing Thailand!

We have a very good idea already but still it would be good entertainment listening to the guy try to BS his way out of being responsible for the crime and watch him squirm while being confronted with the sober reality of what he did and what is ( could be ) in store for the low life.

Looks like similar situation I was into few years ago, with a variation. The principal of a school I was volunteering invite me to have dinner in his house. I do not drink, he and his attractive teacher wife did..a lot. He passed out, his wife rape me....and passed out too.

Thanks God....Thai alcohol is really strong. Next day, they didn't remember what happened....classes resumed like usual.

That is more difficult for the police. That means they have to do some work now and the other way they can wait and have more time for it to go away without them doing anything at all. And after all it is not that important, It is only a woman and it is normal in Thailand for boyfriends and their buddies to get drunk and bash their women............ And it happened when the guys were drunk so it is excusable............

Of course I'm being facetious, but it often appears to be the case.

I know a girl in Pattaya who recently got beat up by the father of her 2 year old son just because she told him that the boy was in the hospital, on oxygen and asked him to help her. He had left her before the baby had arrived............. Many Thai young men are very irresponsible and treat women worse than Soi Dogs....

by the description in the story it seems the remote possibility of alcoholism in the picture. alcoholism on top of a likely underdeveloped iq.

Pattaya police will do nothing unless there is money in it. They are on a par with the drunk friend. If ever their paths collide they will get on famously.

The only way to describe this punk Maew, is a half man. A man child. A worm. A worthless piece of gutter garbage. Less than human. An insect, but not the productive sort of an insect, more like a mosquito, or a cockroach. One that does not benefit humanity on any level. He only sucks oxygen, and apparently gives nothing back.

One can only hope justice somehow prevails. Since there is only a very small chance his family has any substance, more than likely he will receive jail time. Hopefully, this was not his first offense, so the judge will have more ability to put him away for a very long time, where his fellow inmates will introduce him to hard time.
