BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha was satisfied with the Tier 2 watch list ranking in the 2016 Tip Report officially released last night by the US State Department, and vowed to continue the drive against human trafficking.

According to government spokesman Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd, the prime minister offered thanks for the concerted efforts given by all state agencies and the private sector to resolve human trafficking.

The prime minister said the upgrade of the status from Tier 3 to Tier 2 WL reflected the true and determined effort of Thailand to resolve the problem, the spokesman said.

The prime minister vowed that the government and all state agencies would continue to deal strongly and seriously with human trafficking in order to rout out all those responsible as the problem has undermined the country for a long time.

The prime minister also promised to make fishery a sustainable industry that will balance the marine environment, the spokesman said.

He offered thanks for all who had helped and their sacrifices to fight the problem alongside the government.

Does this mean no more defamation charges brought against those who expose human rights violations? No?

Okay, photo ops of men-children in a factory with a bazillion medals on their uniforms will do, I suppose

ratcatcher:

An appropriate visual metaphor - but, a Swiss Cheese (full of holes) may be closer to portraying the reality of the junta's dedication to this task!

But seriously, the cheese theme is good, but I think we need something stronger still to represent the vermin involved in this heinous activity.

He should make clear that he is serious by

immediately going after this infamous "khunjing"

When is he going to take a look at that awful Kai blasted woman.

This guy has made more vow's than Elizabeth Taylor.

Just hope all the workers in the pic now are gettig a deacent contract with monthly/weekly pay, deent food, no whipping etc

Can only hope for the whole industry.

Amja

I just pray he can keep it at tier 2, for the juntas sake and the country. Now lets get back to the go-go girls and party at Sukumvit and then onto Pattaya to celebrate the great news. Heehaw and yeeha thumbsup.gif
