Votes counted in cliffhanger Australian election

post-247607-0-89742200-1467471180_thumb.

Australians voted on Saturday (July 2) to elect a new government and every single ballot being counted could swing the result one way or another.

Exit polls showed the conservative-led coalition neck and neck with the opposition Labor party.

More than 10 million people were expected to vote today in this hotly contested election.

Australia has had five prime ministers since 2010.

Saturday’s early election was prompted after Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, who leads the Liberal Party, dissolved parliament in May in a bid to cement his majority in parliament.

This week, Turnbull waved the Brexit card, saying that given the global uncertainty caused by Britain’s decision to leave the European Union, Australia needed stability.

But early counting showed a swing to the opposition Labor Party, adding to fears a close vote will deny him the outright majority he needs to enact major economic reforms.

Turnbull’s gamble could backfire as his coalition faces a strong challenge – not only from Labor Party chief Bill Shorten, but also from independents who could hold the balance of power.

What a cracker of an Election.

The Australian People have voted for chaos.

If the Liberal (Conservative / Right Wing) Party manages to form Government it will most likely be a Minority Government relying on Cross Benches (Independent representatives) to pass Legislation and will also face a hostile Senate making it almost impossible to implement any reforms in full.

Aims of the Liberal Party (Conservative Government): Break up Medicare (universal Health Care), lower wages, break up Unions further, remove penalty rates, break up Pharmaceutical benefits, lower taxes for corporate Australia and the wealthy elite, restrict social welfare protections, deregulate banksters, privatise education, defund public broadcasting and only allow biased Conservative media, no action on Climate Change and protect the Fossil Fuel polluters.

Aims of the Labor Party (Left Wing): Invest in Education, Training, Health, force corporate Australia to pay taxes, reduce Corporate welfare, reduce Superannuation tax avoidance.

There is the slight possibility that Labor will be able to form Government and control both the Lower House (House of Representatives that produces Legislation) and the Upper House (The Senate that approves Legislation). happy days if that happens but even if the Liberals (Conservative Right Wing) forms a Government it will be a 'lame duck' Government with very little ability to pass Legislation. A win win.

Unfortunately somewhat of a disaster as the bottom feeding populist scum such as Hanson & Lambie are gaining seats, plus an additional few, exposed over the past week secretly seeking support from the far right, will enter the Senate and House of Representatives.

Well Hanson is in the Senate (Upper House, assesses and passes legislation from the Lower House (House of Representatives) and will vote along racist lines with the Right Wing loons but she should be out-gunned by Labor, Greens and Left Wing Independents making up the Senate. Hard to say how Lambie will vote she is a little scatterbrained but just adds to the frustration and chaos of a possible Right Wing Government.

It doesn't go unnoticed that earlier on it was Asians Hanson vented her hatred towards but now has evolved into a hatred for Muslims. Her racism seems to ebb and flow with the times.

Vote 1 Chaos

Loved hearing the DelCons (Delusional Conservatives) whining away this morning. Some of them saying they would have done better with Abbott. They would have lost both Houses under that far Right Wing extremist loony. The only thing that stopped Abbott's successor Turnbull from taking a complete majority in the Lower House is he had to pander to the remaining Right Wing loony Abbott leftovers to get the gig. He had to back-flip on Climate Change, marriage equality and give Tax breaks to the wealthy and thieving Corporate Australia and closing offshore detention and that hurt him badly in this election. If he had of moved a little further Left he would have romped in with the House of Representatives but still faced a hostile Senate.

Dear Mr Simple 1, Hanson was trying to bring honesty into politics over 20 years ago when her party recieved 1 million votes but didn't get a seat in parliment (apart from her) during a federal election! the major parties were so frightened that they organised via Mr Abbot, charges that were trumped up and she was jailed! Lo and behold when the dust had settled and her party had disintergrated the Justice department discovered that it had made an "Oooops" so they squashed the conviction and let her out of jail!!

So much for the noble and honourable major parties, the parties of the most honourable red headed wranger Gillard who voted herself a pension pay rise before she was thrown out of parliment and lets not forget the infamous J. Howard who is suspected of setting up and jailing of Martin Bryant (a person with an IQ of 66)for the terrible killing in Port Arthur Tasmania, just so he could impliment his anti-firearm legislation!!

If you think I'm a "lefty bottom feeder" look it up, the information is there to see, Gilliard forced to surrender her licence to practice law and Howard who told Tasmanian Justice not to hold either an Inquest into the multiple killings or to even hold an inquiry as to how it came about!

The Independants are the only way to hold Parliment accountable to the people, not just a "rubber stamp" for the political elite! thumbsup.gifwai.gif

For the last 20 years Hanson has done nothing other than bring racism, xenophobia and bigotry into Australian politics. She is hateful and divisive and seeks to divide rather than unite Australians. She panders to people who just have an innate hate and fear of what they do not understand or are willing to be educated on.

I do agree with you on what was done to her was an absolute miscarriage and misuse of Judicial power and was orchestrated behind the scenes by the then Howard Government and Abbott being the 'bag man' financier of 'fixing' Hanson. Don't think for one second it was done for the betterment of Australia though. Hanson split the far Right Wing hate voters from the Right Wing Liberal Party and it was hurting them electorally.

The Gillard comments and Martin Bryant comments are a little 'tin foil hat' stuff for me to enter into.

Independents are definitely the way to go but not racist, xenophobic bigots like Hanson.

Greens, Nick Xenophon, Wilkie, etc is what is needed.

It might have been part of the labour scare campaign that the Libs are trying to bust up Medicare but I'm not sure that's what the Libs are trying to do.

What the Libs are missing is a decent leader, Malcolm

Turncoat just hasn't lived up to the role.

I also don't think

Hanson is all that racist these days but she does have issues with the way the country is being sold off and minority groups trying to

Impose certain boundaries into the Australian society.

All that aside, it's a bloodbath.

Australia has been a political mess ever since Kevin 07 came to power 9 years ago.

What a circus
