webfact
Heavy rains raise flood concernsNAN, 5 July 2016 (NNT) - The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has instructed officers to remain vigilant to flash floods and landslides following frequent rains in many areas. In Nan province, continuous rains increased the water levels of reservoirs and canals in Pua and Tha Wang Pha districts. The provincial irrigation office sent water into rice fields in the districts continuously. The water level of the Nan river in Phitsanulok province rose following the recent rains in upper areas. However, large dams in the province still reserve water for use.In Yasothon, the famous tourist site Huay Hin Lat rock field, which dried up during drought, now has water flowing through the rocks after heavy rains. -- NNT 2016-07-

DM07
You really couldn't make this sh1t up, if you tried very, very hard! Every year, the same stupid events and of course, there will be a lot of talk -again! And no action- again! See you next year for the same "drought-flood-drought-flood"- bulls- hit! chowny77
Absolutely no proper infrastructure do deal with environmental events that happen every year. Come next March I will be happy to be going home to visit or maybe even stay as this country has gone to the dogs and has lost its sheen to me. Lol... It drained away... But seriously, think about it... If the money was used correctly, there would be no money to skim from this year. DrTuner
La Nina phase of the ENSO. El Nino was big, expect a backlash from the oscillation. They better leave the reservoirs flowing out or we'll have a repeat of 2011.
