KhunBENQ
My thought too. Being asked about another 30 day entry being reason to get upset that way? Do you have a travel history this year?
PomRakBKK
Had the same questions a few months ago when coming back from Japan - 'How long you stay this time ?'. Told the I/O maybe 1-2 weeks, he didn't say another word and stamped 30 days VOA in my passport.

Told the I/O maybe 1-2 weeks, he didn't say another word and stamped 30 days VOA in my passport. There is no 30 day VOA. There is only 15 days and it costs 1,000 Baht to those that are entitled to apply for one.

Presumably he was referring to a 30-day visa-EXEMPT entry stamp, which people often call a variety of other names.
Popular Post manfredtillmann
i don't know what it was like coming to thailand 20 or 30 years ago. but i can assure you that the questions i was asked and the treatment i received at inner - european border crossings in the '70's (my first road trip to southern france happened pretty much exactly 40 years ago) were 10 times more threatening, intimidating, humiliating and time consuming than anything the kingdom has thrown into my path so far. it involved sub - machine guns pointed at my head, 20+ minutes with hands - up against a wall, strip searches for me and my travel companions, complete car emptying's incl. all seats and the dashbord and boot, they even tested our drink bottles. and i was neither member of a questionable political party nor did i have a prior conviction for drug use or other crimes. coming to thailand and dealing with bureaucracy is such a tame affair, a few questions, a few forms to fill in without having to prove correctness of content, a few photocopies. who would get upset about this? ah, yes, i forgot, the op did... edit: spelling errors, content Edited July 5, 2016 by manfredtillmann

CP3
They are asking this qns more frequently now. Especially those young ladies from imm..wasn't asked like that from guys or women..I told the lady that I am meeting my gf and she replied to get a proper visa next time. I have been going to and fro between my home country and Thailand in a month apart for years and just recently this is happening.
chainarong
am i missing the point here ? please could you elaborate further in not such a clandestine manner thanks No clandestine ops, it just all fell into place, the immigration girl just happened to ask the question at the same time the son was changing my departure date and picking me up at swampy , , I generally use a twelve month ticket and adjust accordingly , the trip was only an hour, so I went cattle class over and back to Cambodia , I generally use Business class , maybe that is a reason why I have never been asked before , don't know , anyway Lamkyong I will be back every now and then , I have great confidence in the Thai people, but not much in their military
Tomtomtom69
So an immigration officer asked you a question, especially an obvious one like how long you plan to stay? That's normal and part of their job. I've been asked questions for years and had no problems. I really don't see what the point of the OP is. He wasn't refused entry, he wasn't told to "get a visa". Let's move onto a more worthy thread please...
