TDRI warns of serious layoffs problem in the second half of the year

BANGKOK: -- A labour expert of a private think tank has warned that the problem of layoffs is likely to get worse in the second half of the year as local industries will start to feel the effects of global economic slowdown while the government’s labour expert has assured that the layoffs problem is normal.

About 40,000 netizens demand NLA to delay amendments to computer crime law

BANGKOK: -- Armed with 40,000 signatures of supporters of an online campaign against Single Gateway, representatives of the netizen’s network on Thursday called on the National Legislative Assembly to delay the deliberation of the amendments to the Computer Crime Act which, they claim, will restrict public’s rights and liberty, particularly free expressions and access to information.

Montian Boontan thanks govt for promoting rights of the disabled

Article 44 implemented to solve land holding issue in forest: MNRE Minister

BANGKOK, 8 July 2016 (NNT) – The Minister of Natural Resources and Environment has affirmed the Prime Minister's use of Article 44, that it is aimed at solving a legal loophole, which allows improper usage of forest area for commercial reasons. The Agricultural Land Reform Office will also be allocating land to the ministry for forest restoration efforts.
