I'm puzzled as to why someone in you field is putting up geographical barriers to future employment. The main benefit to non-hardware supporting IT jobs is that it shouldn't really matter where you are based. Get work from anywhere in the world and live wherever you want.

My work comes almost exclusively from Europe and the US. Nearly every 'local' job (or French, if I'm honest) usually ends up being a pain and with me wishing my boss would learn from past mistakes.
