futsukayoi
Maybe they will really punish them and move them to an active post rather than an inactive one.
WhizBang
A police shakedown that went really sour, really fast. Let's hope all 6 police are charged and jailed. That would send shivers through the RTP. I notice their leader failed to appear. Likely done a runner already.

300sd
Is this the first time these cops have done this? How many innocent Thais have they put away in prison because payments to them were not made? My friend's boss did not pay a bribe to bad police (same kind of story) and now she is spending years in prison because of scum like them.

Ruud4u
These police-officiers will long time not singing anymore The bad is that the corruption get confirmed The good that many police will think twice before doing these kind of actions. Strange that many enterpreneurs not go to complain to the police, cause this will be not the first time. Are they scared??
Buzzz
Extortion and false imprisonment by Thai police officers !! I am shocked !!! The police in Thailand would never stoop that low, honest, caring, upstanding everyone of them Remember the Airport Police Duty Free shoplifting entrapment scam, kidnapping, fake lawyer & extortion gang? Police were accused of colluded with airport store employees that would not ring up every item. Tourists would hand the cashier, say 6 items but she would ring up 5 items and the sixth item would appear to be stolen when they left the store. Then police just outside the store would check the tourists bag contents and find an item not listed on the receipt. Off to the police station, right? No, they take then to a cheap short time hotel, confiscate passports and threaten them with 6 months in jail until a court date. Then the nice police introduce them to a fake lawyer that drains their ATM accounts by scaring them more! Happened over and over and over until somebody "important' got entrapped. The press of course let the story die....

mikebell
A bar on Kao Talo has to pay 24K per month. Its farang owner has been 'fined 100,000'. I think all bars should take the VIP guy's name/number and film any approach by the police.
