Monkeys destroy referendum voter list at a temple in Phichit

image-10-wpcf_728x409.jpeg

PHICHIT: -- About 100 pig-tailed macaques descended on a polling unit inside a temple in Phichit’s Muang district and destroyed several pages of a list of referendum voter’s list on Sunday.

A group of police from Tambon Yanyao police station headed by Pol Lt-Col Banchob Uthayo accompanied by Mr Chatchaval Suksawat, the village head, rushed to Wat Hat Moonkrabue in Tambon Yanyao where the vandalism incident was reported.

They found 12 of the 15 pages of voter’s list were either destroyed or damaged. Witnesses told the police that the monkeys which have been residing in the bushes around the temple were responsible for the vandalism. Some of the monkeys also took away a few damaged pages.

Mr Chatchaval promised to find some equipments to prevent the monkeys from approaching the polling unit when a new list would be attached to the sign board.
No culprits were captured or arrested because they just ran away onto the trees when chased by the officials.

Nevertheless, the incident was reported to the provincial Election Commission and the National Police Office for their acknowledgement.

The monkeys were responsible for the vandalism? What? They're 'monkeys'. It's like blaming vandalism on a strong gust of wind.

I assume the head of police for the area has already been sent to an inactive post.

The BIB led by a Lt. Col no less RUSHED to the scene probably in the knowledge of what happens to senior officers who don't deal properly with paper tearing incidents.

As for finding ' equipements ' to prevent the monkeys repeating their ill intentioned deed has any thought been given to not posting the list on a board in the open. Try a glass case for example.

What a hoot! My belly laugh for the morning.

So what is the organ grinder going to do about that?

Invoke Section 44 to control the monkeys?

You just can't make this up!

What guts the monkeys have shown.

And meeting right out in the open in groups of 5 or more. Next they with be giving the 3 fingered salute and eating sandwiches.

Rise of the planet of the apes!

OK guy's I'll say it. Pig-tailed macaque monkey's destroying voting lists is not quite guerrilla tactics but hey TIT.

Do you junta fan boy's think the boogie man in Dubai paid peanuts for this dissident group of these monkeys to carry out this dastardly deed?

I'll bet the chief of police was strait on the phone reporting the menacing monkeys miserable mess.

Ok folks until next time, same bat time, same bat channel.

Send in the army.

If they already had a problem with monkeys why not place the lists inside or as already bee said in a glass case.

Ohh but that would require use of the brain.

Says it all really !

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif Stop with the news story.....my tummy hurts!

If monkeys can see it's a rigged referendum then surely the people can see through the facade. The problem is, if they vote NO then they will be seen as being misinformed by people with ill intentions inspired by the boogey man and thier vote will be void.

See this as an omen from Hanuman!

Children and monkeys seem to have more interest in the referendum than adults.

No bananas for a week, troop!!!gigglem.gif

Don't worry the monkeys will be caught soon. An expert monkey tracker has been deployed in the area to hunt these rogue monkeys down.

What a waste of police resources,

underneath the fawn jumpers the monkeys were wearing

a hint of a red undershirt maybe, trying to catch these

vandals and removing their outer shirts to reveal who they are really

should make further laughter possible, thank you mother nature.

Charlton Heston would be turning in his grave.

Charlton Heston would be turning in his grave.

Correct, add on that the remake of Ben Hur..

The monkeys are now also suspected in the mailing of altered constitution documents. It appears there was a room full of monkeys and a typewriter and they ended up writing a better version.

You think monkeys are a problem, just wait until the parrots get involved, particularly the Red Tailed Macaws!

arrest those monkeys!!! send them to 'attitude camp' and question them carefully to ensure no 'unseen hand' is behind this despicable act. Anyway Thai monkey's should know better!

first 8 years olds now monkey's! what next? Citizen's protect those lists!

It's amazing how popular this referendum has become, seems voter lists are new must have item!

One suspects we will soon find out that the 100 pig-tailed macaques belong to someone with evil intent living abroad.

That would be a no from the monkeys then?

any TVF members know anything about this lol

you bad monkey's

Is this the Thai version of "my dog ate my homework"?

Brilliant!

Whoever set this up - give them a medal....

.... or a banana....
