Marrying a Thai Wife: Overrated or Underrated?
Shame some folks still fall for the same BS, especially foreigners marrying a working gal/guy, or another non working gal/guy, who been married already, and or has kid (s). No Thai would pay a sin sot in that case. It's a dying tradition, as is the institution of marriage itself. Why do the local do the village ceremony, and many avoid legal registration ? File sin sot with all the other silliness .. Thai culture ... ... only wear long pants & collared shirt ... never out without a shirt on Or silly superstitions they don't believe in themselves that I've heard .. ... don't take photos of kids, as they lose years of life ... If child isn't talking at young age, rub their mouth with a frog, OK, that one is probably true Didn't you hear, Christians are all virgins before getting married ... white dress, so it must be so -

What Is the Best Way to Fly?
I've never understood why that is a problem. I have never been unable to stay awake for 36 hours, which is far longer than a day and a flight. Read a good book or watch movies. what is the problem? Are people so set in their ways that they can't accept a break in their boring lives for one day? Mind you, when I saw the way everyone on arrival got up and stood in the aisle for 15 minutes before allowed off the plane, I had to wonder about humanity. Baaaah. Best comment on flying I ever heard was the Monty Python sketch about going on holiday. So true. -

They are from Germany and are labelled "Kartofflen" and I've seen them on Lazada, but they are quite a bit cheaper in Big C (189 baht I think). -

Phuket, a prominent Thai island known for its tourism wealth, welcomed the Senate Committee on Independent Organisations yesterday. The committee, led by Police Major General Chatchawan Saengphet, visited to appraise the island's ongoing anti-corruption campaign and plans for sustainable development. In a significant meeting at Phuket Provincial Hall on November 26, Vice Governor Ronnarong Thippasiri presented Phuket’s economic landscape, emphasising its unique position with a robust tourist influx. The island's tourism accounts for a substantial 92.9% of its income, producing over 380 billion baht yearly, making it Thailand's top earner after Bangkok. Representatives from various sectors, including local government, the private domain, and civil society, reviewed challenges in procurement and resource management, with a collective aim to eliminate corruption. Vice Governor Ronnarong revealed Phuket's ambitious vision spanning from 2023 to 2042, focused on sustainable development to transition the island into a progressive economic hub. Police Maj. Gen. Chatchawan praised Phuket's decentralised governance and collaborative efforts, highlighting it as a role model in addressing corruption. He stressed the need for engaging youth in anti-corruption initiatives, pointing out the necessity of instilling cultural changes for the future. Phuket's emphasis on ecological sustainability and fair economics seeks to set a standard for transparency and innovation within Thailand.
