PM's Office cites article on Nikkei Asian Review for its positive mention of Thai government

BANGKOK, 3 August 2016 (NNT) - The Prime Minister’s Office has cited an article published in the Nikkei Asian Review which wrote about satisfaction over the current Thai administration, while Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has affirmed the government’s support of the public and private sector at all levels.

Spokesperson to the Prime Minister’s Office Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd cited an article posted on the Nikkei Asian Review on July 27, written by contributing writer Peter Janssen. The article wrote of the Thai government’s efforts to build confidence among investors, with its policies of increasing the ease of doing business, relaxing visa regulations, creating tax incentives, establishing special economic zones, investing in public utilities, supporting the digital economy and cracking down on corruption.

Gen Sansern added that Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has conveyed his gratitude to businesses who have expressed sympathy with the government’s policies and affirmed that his administration will continue to support all sectors of society according to the "Pracharat" economic development model.

It took over two years, but they finally found an foreign publication that wrote favorably about some aspects of military rule.

How come they didn't mention the two articles on Thailand in the last issue of The Economist?

Do you mean the two excellent articles in this issue http://www.economist.com/printedition/2016-07-23  that can easily be found by going to the table of contents?  No idea. :whistling:

Will remember "Peter Janssen" and to take what he says with a grain of salt.  Big business elites in Thailand will always be well looked after.  It is the other classes that will continue to struggle

Hope for me yet. I didn't think it was possible to get Prozac here.
