Visa on arrival 2000 baht from October???

Guys, there are some rumors saying the VOA fee will be raised from 1k to 2k baht starting 27th September, anyone know if this is real or not?

 

I knew the cabinet had a meeting earlier this year and approved it, just when?

Visa on arrival as opposed to 30-day 'visa-exempt'? AFAIK, unless things have changed in the last 8 months, most Western tourists don't pay this.

No, I think the OP is indeed asking for the price of a VOA (necessary for certain nationalities, not affecting most "westerners").

I have no information on the change.

If the MFA website is up-to-date(?) this affects the Chinese which would mean a good extra income for the Thai coffers.

It was mentioned in the news but not sure it was ever approved.

No mention of it on the immigration or MFA websites. Went back through the MFA press releases for this year and found no mention of it. See: http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/media-center/14/page-1.html
