30 days on arrival

Featured Replies

Sorry if this question has been answered a million times, but I just need to verify. If I show up to Thailand without a visa, I can get 30 days for free, correct? Even if I have several visas? Also, do I need proof of a ticket exiting the country?

  • If arriving by air, and you're a national qualifying for visa exempt entry, you'll get permission to stay for 30 days.
  • Previous visas will have no impact. Having many previous visa exempt entries might.
  • It is unlikely that immigration will want to see an onward flight, but the airline might deny boarding if you don't have an onward flight dated within 30 days.

No need for $200 in tickets. All you need is a one way ticket from Thailand to anywhere and those can be found that cost 1000 baht or a bit more. Check for flights from different airports to nearby by countries.

The chances of being denied entry are almost none if you have a valid visa for entry.

Is it possible to know which airlines do that and which do not?

I flew 2 days ago with AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur with oneway ticket to Bangkok. No return ticket needed  to present on check in counter, no problem at immi at DonMuang.

No. All you can do is ask the airline you are flying with.
