EC announces official referendum result

BANGKOK: -- 59.4 percent of eligible voters turned out to vote on August 7 constitution referendum and, of these, 61.35 percent voted in favour of the draft charter against 38.65 who disagreed, according to the official result of the referendum announced Wednesday by the Election Commission.

PM announces the next steps to be taken after the referendum

Queen’s 7th cycle anniversary commemorative coins are now available for booking

BANGKOK: -- Starting Thursday until September 9, members of the public can book for Her Majesty the Queen’s 7th cycle birthday anniversary commemorative coins in gold, silver and a mixture of copper and nickel at the following places.

 

The Grand National Treasure Bureau in the Grand Palace, the Treasury Department’s coin exchange units on Chakkrapong road, in Soi Aree and on Phaholyothin road in Pathum Thani province, Treasury Department’s branch offices across the country.

 

The commemorative coins minted by the Treasury Department are available in 16,000 baht, 800 baht and 50 baht denominations at varying prices.

 

The 16,000 baht polished gold coins are priced at 30,000 baht apiece; 800-baht polished silver coins at 1,600 baht apiece and 50-baht white metallic (a mixture of copper and nickel) at 50 baht each.

 

On top of that, there are polished gold coins priced at 550,000 baht each, 20,000 baht, 1,500 baht and 100-baht coins.

US-backed Libyan forces takeover IS headquarters in Sirte
