Dubai crash survivor defies odds with $1m lottery win

DUBAI: -- A survivor of the Dubai plane crash earlier this month has been hailed the world's luckiest man after winning $1m (£770,000) in a lottery six days later.

Mohamed Basheer Abdul Khadar was one of 300 passengers and crew who narrowly escaped after an Emirates plane crash-landed and exploded on 3 August.

He won the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire lottery.

Good for him. That is the kind of remarkable story that is hard to surpass with better ones in life. Wow!

Great to hear.

Good Luck to him

How come there is a lottery in a Muslim country and Muslims participating ? Isn't that 10000% "haram" ?

I know from Malaysia that Muslims are not allowed to place bets of any kind

Many Muslim countries do their own version of Islam. For example in Kajikastan they drink alcohol openly.

For some reason they don't consider it betting. It is simply a game of chance.

They always allow raffles by calling them "fund raising competitions".

Most of the Gulf airports have a "win a house/car/load of money" raffle.

Question is, would he have still won or even played had he not been involved in the aircraft crash.

...better cash it in before it is worthless....

They say luck comes in 3's. I urge the guy to buy another lottery ticket. :coffee1:
