United Nations' secretary-general Ban Ki-moon has condemned the bomb attacks in Thailand on Thursday and Friday, saying he "hopes the perpetrators of these crimes will be brought to justice expeditiously."

In a statement read last night by the deputy UN spokesman Farhan Haq, “the Secretary-General extends his condolences to the families of the victims and wishes those injured a speedy recovery.”

The spokesman said the UN secretary-general expressed his sympathies to the government and people of Thailand.

Seven provinces were hit by a dozen of bombings and arsons leaving four dead and over 30 injured, including 10 foreign tourists.

Nice one Ban. No agenda here by him like the US State Department Amnesty International. Just condemning and well wishing. He knows the good work Prayut has done and the troubles that he faces bringing democracy to a country that has not seen it in about a decade.

Are you working for the Junta, or have a business affected by not praising the junta?

At first with you, I thought you were just taking the p#ss, but now I believe you actually want to mean what you say.

You remind me of the kid at school who dobbed other kids in for smoking, so he could be petted and praised by the headmaster.

You could possibly try to get online work with the Chinese or North Korean propaganda depts...they'd love your loyalty!

How curious ! A post which approves of the sympathetic statement by Ban Ki-mon expressing  sympathy  for the  victims and the general populace of Thailand and that approval also infers a personal confidence in the current administration invokes a derogative attack which seems  based on an alternative lack of confidence yet demonstrates schoolboy bully attitude.

The Chinese and North Koreans  do not  need propaganda...they have  dictatorial control. As the USSR  used to have.

Propaganda  about  propaganda is however  common to the US  and their  lackeys.;)

Quite normal for Mr Ban Ki Moon to be very selective about condemning terror attacks.

Or responses.

He must be certain he can condemn this one without getting any backfire from certain countries where the "religion of peace" is the mainstay.

The man, his organisation and all its related business are a shameful memory of what it should be.

The UN is the longest gravy train in the world and all it's passengers are there to enjoy a never ending cocktail party.

Just can't let it go that amnesty international ensures that human rights abuses are reported on, can you?

I read the link you posted on a different thread and still am thankful that amnesty is there to make sure that those that would torture, mutilate, improsonment and oppress their own citizens are not allowed to operate in the dark.

As we all should be.

Not djjamie. If nothing else, he is consistent in his defense of the junta.

djjamie was posting back when P.M. General Prayuth Chan-Ocha was still friends with General Mayhem.
