NESDB: Bombings will not impact on GDP

BANGKOK: -- The recent spate of bombing and arson attacks in seven southern provinces are unlikely to impact on Thailand’s growth rate or GDP which is anticipated to register at 3.3 percent for the whole of this year, said Mr Paramethi Wimonsiri, secretary-general of the National Economic and Social Development Board, on Monday.

Bad weather may cause the army helicopter to crash

CHIANG MAI: -- Severe weather condition might have caused the UH-72 Lakota light utility helicopter to lose its balance and to crash onto the ground in Chiang Mai’s Doi Inthanon, said Lt-Gen Somsak Nilbancherdkul, commander of the 3rd army region, told the Press on Monday.

Military court rejects bail for 11 alleged charter distorters

CHIANG MAI: -- The Chiang Mai military court has rejected bail for the mayor of Chiang Mai provincial administration organization and ten other suspects charged with distributing mails allegedly distorting the content of the draft constitution.

PHUKET: As a nationwide manhunt apparently continues for the suspects who planted bombs that detonated throughout Southern Thailand on Friday (Aug 12), police have fallen silent on the hunt for the suspects who planted the two bombs in Patong.

PHUKET: -- Phuket Governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada met with private and public sector officials at Phuket Provincial Hall today, where the multi-billion-baht light rail project plans were finally agreed upon.

Fuel prices up on Tuesday

BANGKOK: -- PTT Plc and Bangchak have announced to increase the retail price of all kinds of oil, effective 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

 

The prices of Petrol 95, gasohol 91, gasohol 95 and E20 will go up by 60 satang/litre.

 

While E85 price will be increased by 40 satang/litre.

 

And diesel price will be 50 satang higher.

 

Therefore, pump prices at retail stations in Bangkok and nearby province will be as follows:

 

Petrol 95          30.86 baht
Gasohol 95      23.75 baht
Gasohol 91      23.48 baht
E20                  21.24 baht
E85                  17.29 baht
Diesel              23.29 baht
