August 16, 20169 yr Hello, I have been asked to be a volunteer teacher for no salary in a School, which I am happy to do. I have found out on the Thai government website that I need a non immigrant O visa and a work permit but I am not sure how I go about doing this, i e paperwork requirements, fees, general information about this. Has anyone done this process before or do you know of anyone who has done this? Any helpful advice would be much appreciated, thank you.... Edited August 16, 20169 yr by Juk3box
August 17, 20169 yr Many people have obtained non-o visa and work permits for volunteer work. The school will have to supply you with the required documents needed for the work permit and visa and then later an extension of stay based upon being a volunteer. The school should pay the 3000 baht fee for the work permit. A single entry non-o visa will cost 2000 baht. Then an extension of stay will be 1900 baht.
August 17, 20169 yr Author Thank you Ubonjoe, do you know what paperwork if any, I will need to supply? I am currently in Thailand so I will be applying for non O from an embassy in a neighbouring country, not from my home country.

The school should check with the provincial work permit office to find out what is needed. This file on Vientiane website has the requirements to get a non-o for volunteer work. http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/upload/pdf/Visa/Non- ED & O.pdf
