SETV accomodation and flight requirements

Featured Replies

hi everyone !

Im getting ready to apply for SETV, how should i book my flight ? The return date should be after 60 days exactly ?

And how i prove accomodation for 60 days if im not staying at a hotel ?   Thanks.

  1. Where are you applying as the requirements vary? Some don't need a booked flight, others will want it dated within 60 days of arrival, and others will go as long as 90 days.
  2. Usually Embassies/Consulates will accept a letter from the person you are staying with.

The Paris Embassy certainly want a copy of air ticket, or an attestation giving the name of the air company and trip dates.

I've received many triple-entry tourist visas for Thailand here in USA in the past twenty years and have never been asked to show flight information, where I will stay, or anything beyond what's on the visa application form.

Thailand Embassy in Romania :

Required documents for Single Entry Tourist Visa and "MT" visa application:

1.      Passport with validity not less than 6 months and one copy of passport.

2.      Visa application form completely filled out.

3.      Recent photograph of the applicant (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) taken within six months. The photograph should be glued to the form and not stapled.

4.      Evidence of travel to and from Thailand (round trip air / transportation tickets).

5.      Booking of accommodation for the entire period.

6.      Employment certificate or bank statement.

Different embassy/consulate different country different requirements.

Some items on the requirements lists are not asked for.

Some people are asked for other documents.

from the DC website SETV & METV

4. A copy of flight confirmation/reservation , showing going from US to Thailand and leaving from Thailand (The name of the applicant must indicated clearly)

Not sure if this is the right forum, but:

Does anybody have info on getting a Thai SETV at the consulate in Kunming, China? I didn't see Kunming on the list of Thai consulates in the region. Kunming is much more convenient for me than Hong Kong.

Unless you are Chinese or a legal resident there you cannot apply for any visa in China.

That is why you don't see any reports for getting a visa there.

Thanks Ubonjoe!!

I have the fine print above my last Vientiane 2-entry TV, "holder of this passport travels to Thailand under tourist visa several times..." That visa is dated 2 Jun 2015 -- 14 months ago, 3rd 2-entry TV in a row from Vientiane, followed by two visa runs to Laos, in Dec, 2015, and Feb, 2016.

When I left Thailand in April, 2016, the immigration officer (whom I had met on a previous trip) suggested that next time I wanted to come to Thailand, I should go to Hong Kong. From what I've read on this forum, that sounds like the best option for me.

So I'm thinking of going to Hong Kong to get an SETV.

Should I expect any difficulty getting an SETV in Hong Kong in my current passport?

Thanks in advance!
