BANGKOK: -- Deputy prime minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan said today that he wanted security authorities to arrest as many as possible those who were responsible for the arson and bomb attacks in seven southern provinces.

His comment came as he was asked about progress in the investigation of the bomb attacks.

He asked the news media not to put pressure on authorities in the investigation but assured he want authorities to arrest as many as possible, and the investigation has been on progress.

He also asked for cooperation from the people to help authorities in acting as eyes and ears, and told them not to be in panic as security authorities are working closely.

"Gen Prawit Wongsuwan said today that he wanted security authorities to arrest as many as possible"

That includes "red shirts", students, monks, foreign tourists, Burmese, Lao, Muslims, taxi drivers, van drivers, bar and massage girls, etc.

All military and police are above the law, therefore not guilty of any crimes.

Of course under the versatile section 44 you can arrest anyone without a reason even for selling flowers , , so DMP Pawtwit generally this would be construed as stupid arresting as many suspects a possible,  what a nonce, if you have suspects of course you are going to arrest them , what do you generally do with  suspects , buy them a free subscription to Junta boys annual and a yellow shirt ,  Pawtwit , another fruity in a senior position........................................................:coffee1:

As they catch suspects like fishermen the fish in their nets you can be sure they find the ones responsible and to be sure they use DNA tests from the street dogs and there is sure the prove for those they think they can make responsible as they have no glue of an idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But what more can you expect in Thailand?

"Deputy prime minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan said today that he wanted security authorities to arrest as many as possible those who were responsible for the arson and bomb attacks in seven southern provinces."

Right, that is what the police are supposed to do.  The fact that he has to spell it out makes one wonder if there was another plan.

Indeed, I hope that everyone who commits a serious crime in Thailand is subject to the full penalty of law.

Oh. Sorry Mr Prawit, I was forgetting...

Indeed, I hope that everyone who commits a serious crime in Thailand is subject to the full penalty of law unless it's treason.

"He said if the Constitution Drafting Committee finishes the draft charter, but conflicts remain unsolved and could not lead to election, then election might not be held as is earlier intended. "  says Thailand's Mr. Prayut  (August 18th, 2016)

They are loving this and will continue to drag it on.

"... He asked the news media not to put pressure on authorities..."

You useless old Prat! You and that other Prat orchestrated yourselves into positions of power and control, and now you're being asked to show leadership at a difficult time you're ducking for cover just like Dad's Army, yelling "Don't panic! Don't panic"!

The Prat "...asked for cooperation from the people...and told them not to be in panic...". With this sort of leadership, the people have every reason to be in panic!

As with Erdogan in tin pot Turkey,  the one man Junta in tin pot Thailand see quantity of arrests more important than the quality. The parallels to Turkey may be more extensive: you have to consider the possibility that the whole thing is staged to serve the purposes of the elite (read: deeper clampdowns ahead?) I could be wrong but these recent bombing events seem to lack any clear motive or demands. If it were the religious nut jobs from the south, some group would be claiming responsibility.

He needs to give himself another medal.  That picture is amazing. I have family members who had commissions, served in some brutal war zones and were awarded some medals, and their medals and campaign ribbons are a small fraction of what adorns the uniforms of some of those Thai officers, none of whom saw battle service.
