PHUKET: Minister of Labor Sirichai Distaku urged Phuket’s officials to increase efforts to combat human trafficking, low wage rates and to increase the number of Thais working in skilled labor positions during his visit to the island on Thursday.

“I’m glad Phuket has made continued progress on the issues of illegal laborers and the management of migrant camps,” Gen Sirichai said. “I also want to congratulate the provincial government’s efforts on decreasing the number of illegal tour guides operating across the island.”
