12 month non immigrant b visa quit job

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 12 month non immigrant b visa multiple entry where I have to leave Thailand every 90 days and it was obtained in Penang, and I have a work permit. I quit my job today so need to know if my visa will remain valid or i need to leave. I have seen conflicting posts about extensions of stay etc. All help appreciated.

Your visa remains valid.

Your multiple entry visa will remain valid. Only an extension of stay obtained at immigration ends when your job ends.

I always like to add to these threads that some, not all, companies will tell you 'they' must cancel your visa. They can't.

It's because they don't know the difference between an 'Extension' and a 'Visa'.

Only immigration can cancel it, but there is no reason why they should.

When you finish work cancel the work permit and keep your passport in your pocket no matter who asks for it at work.

I will have the same visa 12 month O non imm to return here in Oct,will i still be able to do the normal 90 day run to Cambodia border as ive read that it has now been stopped?? if so how can i get a new 90 day stamp every 90 days??

Iam returning to Thailand as a retired pensioner at 70 yrs old.

Nothing has been stopped.

You can do a border hop for a new 90 day entry.

Thank you for the info, i feel more happier now as i have heard all sorts of rumour's regarding the visa hops etc
