BANGKOK — As Bangkok’s shiny new building currently wins attention and plaudits, there’s at least one person unhappy about it.

Seven years after MahaNakhon was announced, its showy debut Monday night brought it to the attention of Srisuwan Janya, a nativist activist who just learned foreign forces were behind its pixelated design.

This is not good he said as he rode /drove his foreign car/motocy while pocketing his foreign iPhone/Samsung wearing his cool Levi jeans and smoking a Marlboro cigarette or maybe he looks forward to riding the Chinese high speed train to Chiang Mai.............Get a life!

Reaction above has been predictable, and the posters are right to be scornful. But this is another line written on the wall, for foreigners in Thailand. Yet one more line. In addition to all the others.

Sensory acuity is the ability to notice what's going on around you. and to infer significance to those things. Without it, you are liable to believe whatever bullcrap people tell you, and to simply not see the punches that life is getting ready to spring on you. It pays to have as much sensory acuity as you can, not as little as you can get away with.

"As head of his own group called the “Safeguarding the Constitution Organization,” Srisuwan said his next target is campaigning against entrepreneurial expats who might illegally own any businesses in the kingdom.

“Both case involve neglect by two government agencies, the Ministry of Labor and Ministry of Commerce,” he told Matichon."

Thanks for the heads up.

Actually I spotted him whizzing his way up Wireless Road on a tuk tuk sporting a natty pakama and puffing on  Khrong Thip so hats off to him for keeping it real. Although he did stop and tell me that Wat Pho was closed today, offered to take me to a special one day only TAT sponsored gem sale at his friend's shop and quoted me 300 baht for the fare to Central Rama 9 so maybe it wasn't him but a bona fide tuk tuk driver. Who knows?

This xenophobia disgusts me! It is everywhere and prevalent everywhere and terribly also in the justice system. The fair way would be to leave Thailand isolated internationally, without help, to produce everything for themselves as an experiment and see where they end up in 30 years. Thst way no foreigner would be taking any jobs from these superior beings and advanced race of such pure descent.  Maybe open a zoo in 2050 for children to view the results of the experiment.

On a smaller scale, the idea of nil, or limited foreigners in industry, was practiced in the aviation industry....and that went pear shaped very quickly.

Your sensory acuity would be a lot more impressive if most of our posters here weren't also blessed with it in such abundance. Check out any farang death thread. :)

Which of the 20+ constitutions have you been safeguarding, Mr. Srisuwan?
