Two forensic teams join Tawatchai death probe

BANGKOK:-- Forensic teams from medical schools have joined the investigation into the suspicious death in police custody of a major suspect in an illegal land deed registration case.

 

Justice Minister General Paiboon Koomchaya said Friday that to ensure transparency in the high-profile case, the forensic teams from Chulalongkorn University, Ramathibodi Medical School, and Siriraj Medical School would participate in the probe along with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI).

Speculation has surrounded the death of Tawatchai Anukul who was reported to have committed suicide by hanging himself in a DSI cell on August 30. An autopsy result at the Police General Hospital, however, indicated that a ruptured liver and suffocation were the cause of his death.

Just as well, as usually within intra departmental investigations, the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing.

 

Now, with 3 University forensic teams, you have the left hand, the right hand if you are male you have the benefit of the.........

you would think they would make the cells in such a way it is difficult to hook a rope or string or shirt any where. what am i saying? would look even more suspicious. guys dead, case closed.

Given the commendable public outing and investigating this matter is getting, I suspect the Army think the Police or police-related figures did it.

 

When people die in military custody in suspicious circumstances, there's not so much witch-hunting.

Ditto. The DSI should have nothing to do with the review of the guy's death, since he was in DSI custody at the time he died. If the powers that be want a supposedly independent review, involving the DSI isn't accomplishing that.
