Activists fume over plan to use Article 44 for dam

ENVIRONMENTAL groups have strongly opposed a plan by the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry to seek invocation of special powers under Article 44 of the post-coup interim charter to commence construction of the controversial Mae Wong dam in Nakhon Sawan province.

SRT suspends train services to three southernmost provinces

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has temporarily suspended train services to the three southernmost provinces of Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat following a huge bomb explosion which tore apart a train carriage in Pattani, killing one railway official and wounding three other people.

Motorists warned against using device to conceal license plates

BANGKOK:-- The Land Transport Department has warned motorists against the use of a remotely-controlled device which can hide a car’s license plates, saying it is against the automobile law and violators are liable to a fine up to 2,000 baht.
