Feeding ducks with banana steams

Featured Replies

My other half has 17 ducks and she feeds them on banana steams cut up is any body else feeding there ducks this I guess it is ok because they eat all she gives them and we are getting eggs from them

My wife takes all banana cuttings, slice it up, mix with other goodies and feeds to the ducks and chickens.

Wild banana is used a lot round where I live.

Would be nice but maybe a bit expensive to feed 20 ducks but thank you anyway I was thinking about a small tree shredder but was I was thinking it might just mash it up to much

Not a bad idea. My wife uses a small meat cleaver and shaves the stock into very thin peaces then she chops the shyt out of them to make them as fine as she can get at which point she adds other goodies such as rice hauls and store bought meal.

I am sure you are already aware but as a reminder never feed antibiotics to ducks !

In many countries i read they let the ducks roam around the rice fields which cuts down on pests and weeds, gives free fertilizer and you get ducks to eat at harvest time.  Does anyone do that in Thailand?
