i have an oa vises which will need to be extended next february

my visa was last extended i chang mai but only till 22nd november as i needed to renew my passport

i now have my new passport but have been by told by 

rayong immigration that i have to go back to chiang mai to do this is that correct

when i get my new extension next february do i have to go back to chiang mai or can it be done at rayong

You you apply for extensions at the office that serves the area in which you live.

 

If your extension is valid until 22 November how can you apply for another extension in February?

Surely you need to apply again in November.

It appears he has moved and obtained a partial year extension in Chiang Mai up to expiration date of his passport so he really needs to appear there for transfer of information into new passport before a new extension can be obtained I suspect (which could probably then be done in Rayong if he has moved and reports it).

Have you formally changed your address to Rayong by submitting a TM28 form and supporting documents?

If you have done that there is no valid reason for Rayong to say you have to do it in Chiang Mai.

TM28 change of address form. Download: http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/tm28.pdf

You don't have to go to Chiang Mai immigration if you change your address to Rayong at the office there.

You will have to apply for a new extension in November. For over 3 years now immigration will not stamp the remainder of your extension after you get a new passport.

if you do it in Chiang Mai you would have to do it at Promenada.
